Taco Taco – Dublin

This year for my birthday we decided to try out Taco Taco on Dame Court, after reading some good reviews and checking out their interesting menu. It did not disappoint!

With so much to choose from we struggled to pick what we wanted but eventually settled on starters of Crab Tostadas and Guacamole. The Tostadas came piled high with cold crab meat topped with apple, cucumber and chipotle. These were delicious. Crab isn’t something I’d order to often but I couldn’t resist these and was so glad I didn’t! The fresh Guacamole came with some crunchy nachos, salsa and sour cream. You can’t go to a Mexican restaurant and not get nachos!

Ordering mains was just as hard as the starters! The choice of taco toppings was between Jamaican Jerk Chicken,  Maple & Chilli Roast Butternut Squash, Fish or Five Spice Hoi-Sin Chinese Duck. After deliberating for awhile we went with the duck and chicken. Another great choice. These two were a real contrast to eat other. The jerk chicken was hot and spicy with that amazing Caribbean flavour whereas the duck had a sticky, sweet taste to it and both were serve with sweet potato fries drizzled in a beautiful pomegranate molasses.

To accompany this feast we got a couple of cocktails too. A classic, and favourite of mine, Mojito and a Pretty Girl.

Taco Taco is somewhere that I will definitely be going back to as they have a pretty big menu. They also apparently do a great brunch which I’ll have to check out too. So if you’re looking for some great Mexican food with a twist check this place out!
